Російські та українські удари вбили принаймні 10 людей у фронтових регіонах | Світові новини

Intense artillery, rocket, and drone attacks on both sides of the Russia-Ukraine frontline have resulted in the deaths of at least 10 people and left more than a dozen wounded, according to regional officials.

Russian forces are intensifying their efforts in the eastern Donetsk region ahead of May 9, a significant date for Moscow as it marks the Soviet Union’s victory in World War II. Meanwhile, Ukraine is eagerly awaiting the arrival of much-needed US weapons promised as part of a new military aid package.

Ukrainian officials reported that Russian attacks killed at least six people in the Donetsk region, while four individuals lost their lives in Russian-occupied parts of southern and eastern Ukraine, as confirmed by Moscow-installed authorities.

In Ukrainian-held territory, a Russian strike on the village of Udachne resulted in the deaths of three people, including damage to several buildings. Additionally, three more individuals were killed in Kurakhivka, further south, as a result of the ongoing conflict.

On the other side, a Ukrainian drone attack in the southern region of Zaporizhzhia led to the deaths of two individuals, according to the Russian-installed government head. The Kremlin had previously claimed annexation of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions in late 2022, but the fighting in these areas continues.

The ongoing conflict has seen intense fighting in the Donetsk region, which is also claimed by Moscow as Russian territory. The situation remains volatile, with casualties reported on both sides of the frontline as the conflict shows no signs of abating.
