10 women entrepreneurs awarded grants through the RevUp Women Initiative | The Guardian Nigeria News

The RevUp Women Initiative recently hosted its Business Showcase, themed “Investing in Women, Inspiring Futures,” to empower women-led enterprises to scale up. Organized by AfriLabs and Visa Foundation, the event brought together stakeholders committed to fostering inclusive economic growth through the empowerment of women entrepreneurs.

The highlight of the event was the announcement and awards of the top ten finalists, each receiving a grant of 10,000 USD. These trailblazing entrepreneurs included Baby Grubz from Lagos, Nigeria; Queen Amina Medical Integration from Abuja, Nigeria; Ecokud Limited from Kisumu, Kenya; Ziada, Kele Makgale (Pty) Ltd from Nairobi, Kenya; Ndiqala (PTY) Ltd from Johannesburg, South Africa; WaziEats from Douala, Cameroon; V’s VitaLife from Yaounde, Cameroon; Mali Food from Lubumbashi, DRC; and P.aktion from Kinshasa, DRC.

During a keynote address, co-founder of Women In Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), Ifeyinwa Ighodalo emphasized the importance of investing in women and the transformative impact it can have on communities and economies. A panel discussion on “Fostering Inclusive Growth Through Women’s Economic Participation” featured insights from industry experts on enhancing women’s economic empowerment across the continent.

Head of Investments at Visa Foundation, Najada Kumbuli, acknowledged the challenges women entrepreneurs face but also highlighted their unparalleled tenacity and determination to succeed. The RevUp Women Initiative Business Showcase not only celebrated the achievements of women entrepreneurs but also catalyzed meaningful change towards a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.
