The Big 12 Conference is gearing up for the 2024 NCAA Division I Tennis Championship with 12 programs set to compete, including six men’s teams and six women’s teams. The championship will be hosted by Oklahoma State at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma from May 16-25.
The undefeated Oklahoma State Cowgirls, with a perfect 27-0 record, have been named the top seed for the first time in program history. They will host Fairfield in the opening round, marking their 12th consecutive postseason appearance. The Cowgirls will face the winner of the match between SMU and Alabama in the next round.
On the men’s side, the Texas Longhorns, the reigning Big 12 champions, earned the second overall seed and will host Sacramento State in the first round. TCU, after making the NCAA semifinals in 2023, was named the No. 4 seed and will host UC Irvine in their 34th NCAA tournament appearance. The Sooners, seeded 11th, will host UT Arlington in their 14th consecutive national tournament appearance.
Other Big 12 teams like Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Baylor, and newcomers BYU and UCF will also be competing in the championship, each facing tough opponents in their respective regions.
