12-year-old shares heartbreaking story of father’s murder at NW Miami-Dade business

The community of Northwest Miami-Dade is in shock after the tragic shooting of 48-year-old German Amado De La Cruz Jr. at his personal watercraft repair shop. His 12-year-old daughter, Ariana De La Cruz, bravely spoke out about her father, describing him as a kind and helpful man who meant the world to her.

According to Miami-Dade Police, the shooting took place at the business located at 3570 N.W. 50th St. De La Cruz was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive his injuries. His daughter tearfully recalled how her father was always there for her, fixing jet skis and being a handyman. She expressed her determination to stay strong for her mother in the wake of this tragedy.

Family members and friends of the victim are struggling to make sense of the senseless act of violence. De La Cruz’s father-in-law, Ernesto Perdomo, described him as a happy and generous person, questioning why anyone would want to harm him. Surveillance footage from the business is now in the hands of the police, but no suspect or motive has been identified yet.

Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers has offered a $5,000 reward for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the shooter. The community is urged to come forward with any details that could help solve this heartbreaking crime.
