The City of Greater Geelong and the Geelong Chamber of Commerce have joined forces once again to bring the Geelong Small Business Festival to the community for the next three years. This exciting partnership aims to provide small businesses in the region with unparalleled growth and learning opportunities.
Now in its 14th year, the festival, held in August, has become a staple event for business owners, entrepreneurs, and those looking to start their own ventures. With access to elite training, engaging presentations, and networking opportunities, participants can expect to gain valuable insights and connections to support them at every stage of their small business journey.
Expressions of interest are now open for businesses and individuals to submit their ideas for free and low-cost training sessions, workshops, seminars, and events at this year’s festival. Topics will cover a wide range of subjects, from social media marketing to workplace culture and everything in between.
Deputy Mayor Anthony Aitken, chair of the Strong Local Economy portfolio, emphasized the importance of small businesses in Greater Geelong, highlighting their role as the engine room of the local economy. He encouraged community members to get involved and share their knowledge by running a session at the festival.
Jeremy Crawford, CEO of the Geelong Chamber of Commerce, expressed the significance of the partnership in providing the best opportunities for businesses to learn, grow, and connect. Changes have been made to offer more accessible venues and scheduling, with a focus on enhancing learning opportunities for small businesses to thrive and succeed.
