A family outing to Universal Studios Hollywood took a terrifying turn for Rebecca Miller and her family when a tram on the backlot tour crashed, injuring 15 people. The incident occurred on Saturday evening, as the Millers were enjoying the tour with their two children.

The tram they were on had just passed the King Kong and T. rex attraction when it suddenly stopped near a display of famous movie vehicles. Initially thinking it was just a technical issue, the situation quickly escalated as park employees received urgent messages on their radios.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 9 p.m., with reports indicating that the last car on the tram ahead of the Millers struck a rail while traveling down a hill near a parking structure. The cause of the crash was attributed to brake issues, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Maria Abal.

Fortunately, the injuries sustained were non life-threatening, with Universal Studios confirming that they were working with authorities to investigate the incident. The park has since resumed the tour with enhanced safety measures in place.

The Universal Studios tram tour is a popular attraction at the theme park, offering visitors a glimpse behind the scenes of famous movie sets. Despite the frightening experience, the Millers stayed at the park, which remained open for a Girl Scouts event that evening.

As investigations continue into the cause of the crash, visitors are reminded that safety remains a top priority at Universal Studios Hollywood.
