19 NMU hockey players honored on CCHA All-Academic Team | News, Sports, Jobs

Nineteen Northern Michigan University hockey players were recently recognized for their academic achievements by being named to the CCHA All-Academic Team. Out of these 19 players, twelve were also honored with a spot on the CCHA Scholar-Athlete Team.

To qualify for the All-Academic Team, student-athletes had to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Those who made the Scholar-Athlete Team had to achieve a GPA of at least 3.5. Across the nine schools in the CCHA, a total of 164 student-athletes were named to the All-Academic Team, with 103 of them also making the Scholar-Athlete Team.

Northern Michigan University had a strong showing on both teams, with standout players like Isack Bandu, Tyrell Boucher, and Aiden Gallacher being recognized for their academic excellence. These student-athletes are not only excelling on the ice but also in the classroom, showcasing their dedication to both their sport and their studies.

The Wildcats’ commitment to academic success is evident in the number of players honored by the CCHA, highlighting the university’s emphasis on balancing athletics and education. With a total of seven players named to the All-Academic Team, Northern Michigan University continues to set a high standard for student-athletes in the conference.

This recognition serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of these student-athletes, showcasing their ability to excel both on and off the ice. Congratulations to all the Northern Michigan University hockey players who were honored for their academic achievements by the CCHA.
