19th OVAC Legends Class Honorees Chosen | News, Sports, Employment

Five honored prep athletes and a highly successful high school coach will be recognized in the 19th class of Legends of Ohio Valley Athletic Conference schools. The honorees, including Reyman (Bud) Bonar, Mike Carson, Brian Jonard, Rod Oldham, and Joe White, will be celebrated at the 20th annual OVAC Hall of Fame banquet on Saturday, August 10 at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.

Reyman (Bud) Bonar, a standout athlete from Bellaire High and University of Notre Dame football player, will be honored for his achievements on the field. Mike Carson, a record-setting basketball player from Sistersville and West Virginia University, will also be recognized for his impressive career.

Brian Jonard, a multiple state champion in cross country and track at Caldwell, and a standout college athlete at Marshall, will join the prestigious list of Legends. Rod Oldham, the mastermind behind the Parkersburg South wrestling program and a state championship coach, will also be honored for his contributions to the sport.

Lastly, Joe White, a record-setting basketball player at Magnolia and University of Southern California, will round out the group of distinguished honorees. These athletes and coach have left a lasting impact on the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference and will be celebrated for their outstanding achievements.

The OVAC Hall of Fame banquet, sponsored by Bob Robinson, will take place at WesBanco Arena, where the Legends of OVAC schools will be recognized for their exceptional talents and accomplishments. Join us in honoring these remarkable individuals on August 10th.
