The 2024 Holistic Health and Fitness Summit held at the University of Texas at El Paso was a resounding success, bringing together military leaders, industry experts, H2F professionals, and fitness coaches to delve into effective solutions within the H2F system. The event, hosted by the 1st Armored Division, aimed to explore ways to optimize individual readiness, prevent injuries, and enhance overall well-being through the holistic approach of the H2F program.
Brig. Gen. Alric Francis, the 1st AD Deputy Commanding General – Operations, set the tone for the summit with his remarks emphasizing the importance of leaders in modeling H2F principles and integrating them into the Army’s fitness culture. The two-day event featured keynote speakers like UTEP’s new head football coach, Scotty Walden, who introduced his “Win the West” Miner Culture Pyramid, inspiring attendees to embrace a culture of excellence and commitment to their mission.
Chaplain (Col.) Kevin Wainwright, the Fort Bliss senior command chaplain, highlighted the role of spirituality in enhancing Soldier readiness and fitness, aligning it with the H2F Program’s principles. Attendees actively engaged in breakout sessions, pairing Soldiers with H2F professionals and fitness coaches to implement H2F programs effectively.
The summit also featured an industry partner exhibit hall, showcasing cutting-edge solutions for human performance optimization. The integration of H2F concepts into regular fitness schedules within Army units was emphasized as a key objective, aiming to enhance overall well-being, resilience, and readiness in formations. The event underscored the division’s commitment to holistic health and fitness, ensuring that Soldiers remain mission-ready and resilient in an ever-evolving operational landscape.
