Walmart, known for its focus on delivering ultra-low prices, is now making a shift towards offering premium items to attract wealthier shoppers. The retail giant has announced the launch of its upscale Bettergoods private label grocery brand, signaling a move towards higher-quality products.

Before the new products hit shelves, a visit to a local Walmart Supercenter revealed a surprising array of premium items already available. From organic produce to Naked juices, the retailer is stocking up on fancy brands and products typically associated with stores like Target or Whole Foods.

Among the premium items found were huge take-and-bake pizzas with a pound of high-quality toppings, Rana pastas known for their freshness, and even lobster tails from the Sam’s Choice brand. The selection also included Tazo, Kencko, and boba tea drinks, as well as Newman’s Own salad dressings and Rao’s pasta sauces.

Other upscale offerings at Walmart included Boom Chicka Pop snacks, Spindrift, Waterloo, and Bubly seltzers, as well as a variety of water enhancers and organic kids’ drinks. The store also boasted a wall of olive oils, premium ice creams from Ben & Jerry’s and Van Leeuwen, and plant-based meats from Impossible and Beyond.

In addition to food items, Walmart also carries premium household products like Kerrygold butter, Quip toothbrushes, and Olly vitamins. The store even offers high-end infant supplies from Honest and children’s clothing from Gerber.

With the upcoming launch of Bettergoods, Walmart is set to further expand its range of premium products, catering to a wider range of customers looking for quality items at affordable prices.
