Sharjah Gears Up for Arabian Travel Market 2024
Sharjah is set to make its mark at the upcoming Arabian Travel Market 2024 (ATM) as it gears up for its 24th participation in the event. The emirate will be showcasing its latest tourist, entertainment, cultural, and adventure offerings, along with ongoing projects and future strategies aimed at solidifying its position as a premier destination for global tourists and visitors.
With 27 public and private entities, including the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), participating in the event, Sharjah is ready to highlight its diverse and integrated tourist activities that cater to a wide spectrum of visitors, making it a year-round attraction.
HE Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, emphasized the emirate’s commitment to furthering its success in line with national objectives, bolstering tourism as a key driver of economic diversification. He highlighted Sharjah’s position as a fast-growing tourist destination in the region, boasting a strong presence and offering a wide range of tourist activities.
One of the key initiatives to be launched during the event is the Tour Guide Training Service, which will offer participants the opportunity to obtain an official tour guide license within hours after completing the training programs. This initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of capable and experienced workforce among youth and entrepreneurs, enriching the tourism experience and enhancing the emirate’s appeal.
Sharjah’s participation in the Arabian Travel Market is crucial for showcasing advancements in the tourism and travel sector, building innovative partnerships, and achieving sustainability standards in the global travel and tourism ecosystem. The emirate’s pavilion will host a press conference to announce the latest developments in tourist projects, unveil new programs and initiatives, and highlight the diverse tourism experiences offered by Sharjah.
