Organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), the book fair has solidified its position as a highly anticipated event for the cultural community and the publishing industry worldwide.

With over 1,350 exhibitors from 90 countries expected to participate, the theme for this year’s fair is “Where the World’s Tales Unfold”. The event, scheduled to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 29th April to 5th May, will see 145 new exhibitors and publishing houses making their debut, along with 12 additional countries joining in.

The book fair offers a unique opportunity to explore diverse cultures from around the world, making it a enriching experience for families and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a global cultural hub. It serves as a platform for exhibitors to showcase their work, promote their brand identity, and delve into new experiences in the publishing and creative industries.

Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the ALC, highlighted the book fair’s success in attracting global industry professionals and creators, emphasizing its role as a platform for intercultural exchange. The fair’s impact on the regional and Arab book fair industry has been significant, promoting the use of the Arabic language in cultural and creative industries.

This year, the book fair will celebrate Egyptian novelist Naguib Mahfouz as the Focus Personality, showcasing Egypt’s rich literary tradition and its profound influence on Arab thought and creativity. With Egypt as the Guest of Honour, the fair will present a cultural and professional programme that reflects Egypt’s pivotal role in the Arab world and the publishing industry.
