Reading Time: < 1 minute

The University of Indianapolis women’s tennis team pulled off a stunning upset against the No. 25-ranked Tiffin Dragons with a score of 4-2. The No. 37-ranked Hounds, who came into the match with a 6-5 record, handed the Dragons just their second loss of the season, ending their 17-game win streak.

In a tightly contested doubles competition, the duo of Tyffaine Pais and Ana Hollweg secured a victory at court three, while the un-ranked pair of Maissane Aik and Maria Fiacan pulled off an upset against the No. 29-ranked Tiffin pair. The Hounds carried their momentum into singles play, with Pais and Fiacan both notching straight-set wins.

The defining moment of the match came from Benedetta Sensi, who staged a comeback victory at court three to secure the win for the Hounds. With Valentin Colin also holding control in her match at No. 6, the Hounds sealed the victory.

Looking ahead, the Hounds will celebrate senior day in their final regular-season home match against the McKendree Bearcats. The team will aim to extend their winning streak to four games as they honor their seniors at the Center Grove High School tennis facilities in Greenwood, Ind. The action is set to begin at noon following the senior day festivities at 11:30 a.m.
