The 2024 UAMS Health Little Rock Open, an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour tournament, is set to begin on May 26 at Rebsamen Tennis Center in Little Rock and will run through June 2. This year’s tournament marks the second year that the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is hosting the event, with proceeds supporting the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute’s Bone Marrow program.
Admission to the tournament is free, offering tennis enthusiasts and the community a chance to witness some of the best players in the world compete in the hardcourt men’s tennis tournament. This year’s event will also feature an ATP Challenger Tour, the second-highest tier of tennis competition, including singles and doubles play.
“We are excited to host the Little Rock Open once again and showcase top-tier tennis talent right here in Little Rock,” said Chip Stearns, director of the UAMS Health Little Rock Open tournament. “It’s not only a thrilling tournament but also an opportunity to support a worthy cause and raise awareness about the importance of bone marrow transplants in cancer treatment.”
In addition to the matches, the tournament will include special events such as a tennis enrichment session for children from the Boys and Girls Club of Arkansas, as well as an International Day family tennis clinic. Various sponsors have come on board to support the event, ensuring its success and impact on the community.
