President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has initiated a generous grant to distribute 65,000 books from the 33rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair to 220 schools across the UAE. This move aims to support school libraries in promoting a culture of reading among students and enriching their educational resources.
The books, purchased from 77 publishing houses that participated in the book fair, cover a wide range of titles and publications to enhance students’ knowledge and expand the schools’ literary collection. This initiative is part of a broader effort to encourage reading and preserve the Arabic language’s rich literary heritage.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized the importance of the Arabic language as a tool for critical thinking and unity. He stated, “Our language is a powerful and inclusive tool for innovative and critical thinking, enabling us to unite in our thoughts and words.” The grant from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is seen as a significant step towards fostering a deeper understanding of the language and bridging cultural divides.
The distribution of books to schools is expected to have a positive impact on students’ learning and development. By providing access to a diverse range of literary works, the initiative aims to inspire a love for reading and learning among the younger generation. It also serves as a testament to the UAE’s commitment to promoting education and knowledge-sharing within the community.
In addition to the book distribution, the UAE has seen other notable developments in recent days. Over 100,000 Emiratis have entered the private sector job market for the first time, as announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This move reflects the country’s efforts to diversify its economy and create more opportunities for its citizens.
Furthermore, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has completed road projects in Al Qusais Industrial areas to enhance road capacity and improve traffic flow. The completion of internal roads and lighting work is expected to triple the road capacity, benefiting residents and businesses in the area.
On the sports front, Al Ain FC’s victory in the AFC Champions League has garnered praise from UAE leaders, including President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The team’s triumph has been celebrated as a significant achievement for UAE football.
As the UAE marks the 43rd anniversary of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) founding, member countries come together to commemorate the Council’s establishment in Abu Dhabi. The GCC’s anniversary serves as a reminder of the region’s unity and cooperation in addressing common challenges and promoting mutual prosperity.
Overall, these recent developments underscore the UAE’s commitment to education, economic diversification, infrastructure development, sports excellence, and regional cooperation. The initiatives and achievements reflect the country’s vision for a prosperous and inclusive society built on knowledge, innovation, and collaboration.
