The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnic (SSANIP), Yabatech Chapter, has expressed gratitude to philanthropist Alhaji Tunde Fanimokun for his generous donation of N3.5 billion towards the construction of an Entrepreneurship Centre at the college. The Chairman of SSANIP, Yabatech Chapter, Mr Jason Ayodeji, described the donation as a significant development that would greatly benefit the students’ career paths.
The groundbreaking event for the Entrepreneurship Centre took place at the Yusuf Grillo Hall of the college in honor of Fanimokun’s 80th birthday. The building, to be named the “Folawiyo Entrepreneurship Centre,” will provide students with essential life skills and opportunities to develop their entrepreneurial abilities.
Ayodeji emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship centres in shaping the future of students, fostering innovation, and creativity. He highlighted the various facilities that the four-storey building will offer, including lecture theatres, classrooms, office spaces, and vocational activity areas.
The SSANIP chairman also commended Dr Ibraheem Abdul, the Rector of Yabatech, for his efforts in securing such a significant endowment for the institution. He praised the administration’s commitment to enhancing the college’s facilities and educational opportunities.
Fanimokun, a retired Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Civil Service, has continued to make a positive impact through his philanthropic endeavors. The SSANIP and the college community look forward to the completion of the Entrepreneurship Centre and the opportunities it will provide for students to succeed in their entrepreneurial ventures.
