The late Hollywood icon, Raquel Welch, continues to captivate fans even after her passing in February last year at the age of 82. A recent auction of her personal items, including costumes and awards, fetched over $1 million (£870,000), showcasing the enduring appeal of the legendary actress.

One of the standout pieces from the auction was a necklace worn by Welch, which sold for an astonishing $195,000 (£156,000) – a staggering 195 times its original asking price of $1,000 (£800). The turquoise and silver jewelry piece was worn by Welch during a famous photoshoot with renowned photographer Terry O’Neill and to the premiere of her film ‘Myra Breckinridge’ in 1970.

Other items that went under the hammer included a faux fur bikini inspired by Welch’s iconic role in the 1966 caveman comedy ‘One Million Years B.C’, which sold for $13,000 (£10,000). Additionally, a two-piece bikini worn in the 1967 comedy ‘Bedazzled’ fetched $22,750 (£18,000), and her 1975 Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a comedy went for $26,000 (£21,000).
