A fire broke out at Copenhagen’s historic Old Stock Exchange on Tuesday, engulfing its spire, which eventually collapsed onto the roof of the iconic building. The incident, which occurred in the Danish capital, caused no reported injuries.

Live video footage from local media captured the dramatic scene as people rushed to save valuable paintings from the burning building. Firefighters were seen battling the flames as smoke billowed from the Old Stock Exchange.

The historic building, known for its distinctive spire shaped like the tails of four dragons intertwined, was undergoing renovations at the time of the fire. While it no longer serves as the Danish stock exchange, it remains the headquarters for the Danish Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber of Commerce expressed shock and sadness at the sight of the Bourse on fire, urging caution and asking people to avoid driving in the inner part of the city. The incident drew attention from onlookers, with images showing the intensity of the blaze and the efforts to contain it.

Despite the loss of the spire, authorities are grateful that there were no injuries reported in connection with the fire. The investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing as the community comes to terms with the damage to this historic landmark.
