The College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Engineering, and UNM Libraries are coming together to host a series of events called “AI@UNM” to explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic settings. The first event, AI-April, will kick off on April 10 and will focus on how AI is changing the educational landscape and how universities should respond.

The series will feature a keynote presentation by José Bowen, an expert in AI who has extensive experience in teaching and consulting. Bowen will share valuable insights on using AI in the classroom and its implications for education. Following the keynote, there will be two workshops on AI Grading and Policies, and AI Assessment and Assignments, where participants can learn how to integrate AI into their teaching and research.

The events will continue throughout the month of April, with topics ranging from AI and research to AI’s role in public discourse and elections. The goal of the series is to equip students, faculty, and the broader community with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the evolving landscape of AI in academia.
