The University of San Francisco women’s tennis team faced tough competition in their final two regular season matches this past weekend, ultimately falling to Gonzaga and LMU.
In their match against Gonzaga, the Dons struggled in both doubles and singles play. Gonzaga’s Tiegan Aitken and Kianna Oda defeated Erin Richardson and Alicia Yue in doubles, while Emily Robertson and Ella Nielsen secured another win for Gonzaga against Katerina Filip and Azaria Hayes. The singles matches were equally challenging, with Filip being the only USF player to secure a win against Emily Robertson.
The Dons faced a similar fate in their match against LMU, with the team unable to secure a victory in either doubles or singles play. Anastasia Bozova and Ste Rogozinska-Dzik of LMU defeated Richardson and Yue in doubles, while Carlota Molina and Fiona Arrese secured another win for LMU against Filip and Hayes in doubles. In singles, Ste Rogozinska-Dzik of LMU proved to be a formidable opponent for Filip, ultimately securing the win.
Despite the losses, the University of San Francisco women’s tennis team remains determined and focused on improving their game.
