Salem Middle School Boys and Girls Track Teams Shine at County Meet

The Salem Middle School boys and girls track teams put on an impressive performance at the 39th Columbiana County Middle School Meet held at Crestview. The boys team took first place with a total of 104 points, while the girls team finished in third place with 80 points.

In the boys division, standout performances included Cameron Cappitte winning the 100m dash, Colton Hall dominating the 1600m run, and Colton Hall also taking first in the 800m run. In the field events, Gio Surace from East Liverpool won the shot put event with a throw of 37 feet 9 1/2 inches.

On the girls side, Chaya Murray from Salem had a stellar day, winning both the 100m dash and the 400m dash. Jansen Ours from Beaver Local impressed in the 1600m run and the 800m run. Katie Kellogg from Southern Local took first place in the shot put event with a throw of 32 feet 11 inches.

Overall, the Salem Middle School track teams showed great skill and determination at the county meet, with several athletes taking home top honors in their respective events. Congratulations to all the athletes on their outstanding performances!
