St. Marys High School’s softball team made history on Friday night by winning their first-ever Little Kanawha Conference championship. The Blue Devils secured a 4-0 victory over Roane County in a thrilling game at Glenville State’s Sue Morris Sports Complex.
Cali Masters played a pivotal role in the victory, delivering five hits in as many at-bats and showcasing her pitching prowess with a dominant performance on the mound. Masters fired a two-hitter against Roane County, recording 14 strikeouts and only allowing one walk.
The game was not without its tense moments, especially after a wild 2-1 win in 10 innings against Doddridge County in the semifinals. However, the Blue Devils maintained their intensity and focus, ultimately clinching the championship title.
