Voting has officially begun in the Springfield region

The race for The State Journal-Register Student of the Week is heating up as three outstanding nominees have been put forth by local and area schools. The students, selected for their academic achievement, leadership, citizenship, character, public service, and participation in clubs and activities, are now vying for the prestigious title.

The nominees for April 29-May 3 are Addison Earley from North Mac High School, Ethan Fagan from Brown County High School, and Aiden Meinkoth from Southeast High School. These exceptional students have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to their schools and communities.

Addison Earley, a senior at North Mac High School, is described as the top academic performer in her class. She is a member of the National Honor Society and excels in both volleyball and track. Addison will be attending the University of Missouri in the fall to pursue a degree in physical therapy.

Ethan Fagan, a senior at Brown County High School, is known for his academic expertise and leadership in the classroom. He is an integral member of the high school band and is dedicated to helping his peers grow and learn.

Aiden Meinkoth, a senior at Southeast High School, is a problem-solver and independent thinker who excels in math. He plans to pursue a degree in engineering and has dedicated much of his time to community service.

Voting for the Student of the Week is now open, and the winner will be announced online on Friday and in print on Sunday. Make sure to cast your vote for these deserving students before the deadline on Thursday at 10 a.m.
