Christian Goering, a professor of curriculum and instruction in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas, has been named a 2024 Alumni Fellow by Kansas State University. This prestigious honor recognizes Goering as one of 12 distinguished alumni to be recognized as fellows this year.
As an Alumni Fellow, Goering was invited to return to his alma mater to connect with current students and faculty and present a guest lecture. Reflecting on the honor, Goering expressed his gratitude and humility, stating, “Being selected as an Alumni Fellow by Kansas State University is an incredibly humbling honor, one I’m in awe to receive.”
In addition to his accomplishments in academia, Goering emphasized the importance of finding joy and fulfillment in one’s career. He shared, “Find something you want to do and that you enjoy doing, and it will never feel like work. Each day, I gauge my success with research or teaching by the metric of how much fun I get to have.”
Goering holds two degrees in curriculum and instruction from Kansas State University and has been a faculty member at the University of Arkansas since 2007. He currently serves as the coordinator of the Secondary Education program and the director of the Northwest Arkansas Writing Project and the Center for Children and Youth.
With a prolific publication record, numerous awards for teaching and research excellence, and a commitment to mentorship and leadership in his field, Goering exemplifies the qualities of a distinguished Alumni Fellow.
