Apple users are facing a mysterious outage this week, with many being logged out of their Apple IDs and forced to reset their passwords to regain access to their accounts. The issue reportedly started on Friday evening and continued into the weekend, leaving users frustrated and confused.

According to reports from users on X and Threads, the sudden password reset affected users across all their devices, with their usual passwords no longer working. Some users took to Twitter to express their frustration, with one user saying they had to jump through hoops to reset their password and fix all the apps that required Apple ID access.

As of Tuesday morning, Apple’s System Status page showed that the Apple ID section was functioning normally. However, users are still facing challenges, especially those with multiple Apple devices and Stolen Device Protection turned on. Resetting passwords and performing certain functions can take longer if the device is away from a familiar location, causing inconvenience for users.

Additionally, all app-specific passwords stored in Apple IDs will also be reset, adding to the headache of logging back into various apps. Despite the widespread reports of the issue, Apple has not addressed the outage and has not responded to requests for comment.

For now, users are advised to reset their passwords if they encounter the issue and to be patient as they navigate through the challenges of the outage.
