Bentley Motors is making significant strides towards becoming fully electric and the world’s most sustainable luxury automotive manufacturer. The company recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Paint Shop in Crewe, marking a pivotal moment in its journey towards electrification.

The new facility, located at Bentley’s carbon-neutral headquarters, will play a crucial role in the brand’s transition to Battery-Powered Electric Vehicle production. With a focus on next-generation, digital, flexible, and high-value manufacturing operations, the new Paint Shop is set to redefine luxury car manufacturing standards.

Andreas Lehe, Bentley’s board member for manufacturing, and Jan-Henrik Lafrentz, Bentley’s board member for finance and IT, officially kicked off construction by breaking ground on the new 12,460 sq m paint shop. The facility is expected to be completed by 2025 and will offer customers an expanded paint color choice of nearly 100 individual colors.

This investment is part of Bentley’s £2.5bn program to develop future products and enhance its manufacturing capabilities at the Pyms Lane factory in Crewe. The company’s Beyond100 strategy aims to reinvent its product range to support an electrified future and achieve carbon-neutral status by 2030.

By modernizing its site and committing to sustainable luxury mobility, Bentley is positioning itself as a leader in the industry. The company’s digital, zero environmental impact manufacturing facility will set new standards for environmental sustainability and digital innovation in the luxury car sector.
