Former UFC champion and WWE superstar Ronda Rousey is adding another title to her impressive resume – screenwriter. The 37-year-old retired fighter is set to adapt her life story into a screenplay for a biopic that is currently in the works at Netflix.

After the release of her second autobiography, “Our Fight,” Rousey had originally signed on with Paramount for the film rights to her story. However, changes in management at the studio led to the deal lapsing, and Rousey took her project to Netflix.

Michelle Evans, a manager for original studio films at Netflix and a fan of Rousey’s UFC career, championed the project. The biopic will document Rousey’s UFC downfall, her struggles with concussions, and her time as a professional wrestler in WWE.

Chernin Entertainment, known for films like “Ford vs. Ferrari,” is expected to produce the project. Rousey reportedly fought for the opportunity to write the script for her own biopic, impressing her agents at William Morris Endeavor with her screenwriting skills.

Despite initially planning to star in the lead role, Rousey is now focusing on her role as writer and producer. Producers are currently searching for potential candidates to play Rousey in the film.

Netflix loved Rousey’s script and quickly inked a deal to secure the rights to the biopic. With her incredible journey from Olympic bronze medalist to UFC champion to WWE superstar, Rousey’s biopic is sure to be a captivating story of resilience and determination.
