Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, received heartfelt condolences on Thursday following the passing of Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. The solemn gathering took place at Qasr Al Mushrif in Abu Dhabi, where dignitaries and officials came together to pay their respects to the late Sheikh.
Among those offering their condolences were His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah; His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain; and Sayyid Asaad Bin Tarik Al Said, the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq of Oman.
The atmosphere at Qasr Al Mushrif was one of solemnity and respect as Sheikh Mohamed received the condolences from various leaders and dignitaries. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince of Ajman; and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, were among those present to offer their sympathies.
The President was accompanied by the siblings and children of the late Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, as they accepted the condolences from the gathered mourners. Prayers were offered for the peace and mercy of the departed soul, and for strength and solace for the grieving family and relatives.
The attendees fondly remembered the many achievements of the late Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed, highlighting his dedicated service to the nation and his valuable contributions to its development. As a close companion of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed, Sheikh Tahnoun’s legacy was honored with gratitude and pride.
In addition to the President, several other prominent figures were present to receive condolences, including Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi; and Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, among others.
The gathering was a poignant reminder of the unity and solidarity within the UAE leadership and the wider community during times of loss and grief. The outpouring of support and condolences reflected the deep respect and admiration for the late Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan and his significant contributions to the nation.
