Warren Area High School athletes shined at the Altoona Mt. Lion Track and Field Classic on Friday, with standout performances from Sam Lindell and Laney Gatto. Lindell took first place in the 3,200-meter run, finishing 7 seconds ahead of his closest competitor with a time of 9:52.02. Gatto soared to new heights in the pole vault, setting a school record of 12 feet and securing the top spot among 20 competitors.

Warren coach Kevin Dustin expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, noting the numerous personal bests and new district qualifiers. He highlighted the girls’ pursuit of an undefeated season and region championship, as well as their aspirations for success at the district and PIAA state championships.

In addition to Lindell and Gatto’s victories, other Warren athletes made their mark at the meet. Quinn Norris placed eighth in the 1,600 meters and 11th in the 800 meters for the boys, while the girls team saw strong performances from Morgan Alexander, Riley Evan, Lindsay Madigan, Lilly Newton, Brynn Norris, and Adison Cullers in various events.

Meanwhile, at the Coudersport Invitational, Warren and Eisenhower athletes continued to impress. Zoe Rodgers claimed first place in discus, narrowly edging out her competition with a throw of 99 feet, 10 inches. Emma Peterson, Bella Campbell, Gracie Page, Brady Caudill, and Aurora Feaster also delivered notable performances in their respective events.

Overall, Warren Area High School’s track and field team showcased their talent and determination at both meets, setting the stage for continued success as they approach the end of the season.
