Reading Time: < 1 minute

Anshul Kamboj, a 23-year-old pace-bowling all-rounder from Haryana, made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians in a thrilling match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Kamboj, who was brought into the MI squad this season for his base price of INR 20 lakh, almost had Travis Head as his maiden IPL wicket, only for the third umpire to call a no-ball.

Despite some early setbacks, Kamboj showed his potential by picking up his first wicket against Mayank Agarwal. The young cricketer has already made a name for himself in domestic cricket, with impressive performances in formats like first-class, List A, and T20 matches. In his 13 first-class matches, he has taken 24 wickets at an average of 38.91, while in List A matches, he has 23 wickets at an average of 18.82.

Kamboj’s journey to the IPL has been a promising one, having represented India at the U19 level and being recognized as a talent to watch by none other than R Ashwin. His performance in the IPL debut match has further solidified his reputation as a young player with immense potential.

As the IPL continues to be a platform for young talents to shine, Anshul Kamboj’s debut performance has certainly caught the attention of cricket fans and experts alike. With his skills and determination, Kamboj is set to make a mark in the world of cricket and become a player to watch out for in future IPL seasons.
