Johnny Marr has announced a “mega” North American tour with James later this year, with a total of 20 dates scheduled between September and October. The tour, named ‘Spirit Power’, will see Marr and James perform in cities such as Denver, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Montreal, and Chicago.
Pre-sale tickets for the tour went live on May 8, with general ticket sales starting on May 10. Marr took to social media to share the exciting news, expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming tour. The announcement has generated a buzz among fans of both artists, with many eager to secure their tickets for what promises to be an unforgettable series of shows.
Marr and James have a history of collaboration, with James having supported The Smiths on their ‘Meat Is Murder’ tour back in 1985. Marr spoke fondly of their past interactions, stating, “I’ve been a fan of theirs ever since and being out on tour again after 40 years is a really great thing.” James’ frontman Tim Booth also expressed his excitement about co-headlining the tour with Marr, describing it as an “honor and pleasure.”
In addition to the North American tour, Marr is set to perform at a headline show in the UK this summer alongside Suede and Nadine Shah. The show, headlined by Suede, will take place in the grounds of Audley End in Saffron Walden, Essex on August 1. Fans can expect a night of magic and music from these iconic artists.
