Rosati’s University Offers Unique Path to Franchise Ownership
Are you someone who is not interested in traditional college or technical school, but has a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed? If so, Rosati’s University might be the perfect fit for you. This approximately four-year paid training program is designed to train prospective Rosati’s Pizza franchisees on all aspects of running a successful pizza location and eventually becoming part owners of a franchise.
Founded in 1964 and franchising since 2006, Rosati’s Pizza has nearly 125 locations across the U.S. Jay Rosati, the great-grandson of one of the founders, recognized the need for a program to identify, train, and incentivize the best workers for the company. Thus, Rosati’s University was born.
The program begins with a five-week “basic training” program, where candidates learn the ins and outs of working at a Rosati’s location. This paid training includes everything from order entry to order creation, giving candidates a comprehensive understanding of the brand.
After basic training, candidates move on to Rosati’s University, where they attend paid classes covering the fundamentals of business operations. Candidates are paired with mentors and required to take exams to advance to the next level. As an added incentive, candidates receive a pay increase for every course completed.
Upon completing the program, graduates are eligible for consideration for part ownership in a Rosati’s franchise, with special financing provided by the company. The ultimate goal of Rosati’s University is to train individuals to become successful business owners, not just pizza-makers or general managers.
With approximately 10 candidates already in the program, Rosati’s University is off to a promising start. Jay Rosati hopes to continue attracting the right candidates and growing the program to help more individuals achieve their dream of franchise ownership.
