Aberdeen Roncalli Makes Strong Showing at State Class A Boys Tennis Tournament

RAPID CITY — Aberdeen Roncalli made a strong showing on the opening day of the state Class A boys tennis tournament, moving into third place behind favorites Sioux Falls Christian and Rapid City Christian.

Sioux Falls Christian dominated the competition, advancing all six of its singles players into the semifinals and pushing all three doubles teams to the finals. The Chargers scored 392 points, leading the pack ahead of Rapid City Christian with 344 points.

Aberdeen Roncalli also had a successful day, scoring 225 points and advancing four singles players and two doubles teams into the third-place matches. Players like Palmer Johnson, Gannon May, Landon Zikmund, and Ezra Feickert showcased their skills and will be competing for third place in their respective categories.

Milbank also put up a solid performance, finishing ninth with 135 points. Players like Joe Schulte, Gregory Grabow, Will Muellenbach, Daniel Shelstad, and Alex Baugh showed their talent by reaching the fifth-place semifinals in singles and doubles.
