Scott Kindberg, the commencement speaker at SUNY Jamestown Community College, delivered a heartfelt and humorous keynote address to graduates in Olean and Jamestown. The award-winning journalist and regional sports editor shared valuable life lessons and anecdotes from his career, emphasizing the importance of surrounding oneself with good people and appreciating hometowns.

Kindberg recounted a touching moment with his son at a baseball game, where his son marveled at the view and reminded him of the beauty in their city. He also shared a poignant story of connecting with a high school basketball player who had lost his father, realizing the impact of his work in his community.

The commencement ceremonies awarded degrees to 449 graduates from various program areas, including healthcare, computer science, and law enforcement.
