India’s push to establish itself as a key player in artificial intelligence has garnered the attention of Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies. The billionaire CEO sees India as a promising market due to its strong economy, abundance of tech talent, and ambition to lead in AI.

During the Dell Technologies World event in Las Vegas, Dell expressed his interest in India’s quest for sovereign AI. He highlighted India’s efforts to build its own AI ecosystem, which includes developing indigenous large language models and creating a highly scalable AI compute infrastructure.

With the recent approval of a national-level India Artificial Intelligence mission with a budget of Rs 10,371.92 crore, India is poised to boost its AI capabilities through public and private partnerships. Dell’s partnership with Nvidia aims to accelerate AI integration in enterprises, offering an AI Factory solution to deploy AI solutions quickly and efficiently.

India joins other countries like Saudi Arabia, UK, France, Germany, and the UAE in the global race to shape the future of AI technology. Indian startups are now developing their own AI models to compete with Silicon Valley giants and meet the rising demand for AI solutions.

At the event, Dell emphasized the shift from computation to cognition in the age of AI, likening it to the early days of electricity. He highlighted the potential benefits of AI for enterprises and the importance of building a robust AI infrastructure to drive innovation and competitiveness.

As India continues to make strides in AI development, partnerships with global tech leaders like Dell and Nvidia will play a crucial role in accelerating the country’s AI ambitions and establishing itself as a leader in the field.
