Sansum Clinic, now part of Sutter Health, has been recognized as one of the best ambulatory service centers in the country by U.S. News & World Report. The Foothill Surgery Center and Pueblo GI Ambulatory Surgery Center, both part of Sansum Health, received high performing ratings in the 2024-2025 Best Ambulatory Service Centers issue.
The evaluation criteria included four specialty areas: colonoscopy/endoscopy, ophthalmology, orthopedics/spine, and urology. The Foothill Surgery Center was recognized for its high performing ophthalmology procedures, while the Pueblo GI ASC earned praise for its colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures. Less than 15% of evaluated facilities received a “High Performing” rating, making Sansum Clinic’s ASCs stand out among the top performers.
Tom Parra, Director of Ambulatory Surgery Service Line at Sutter Health Greater Central Coast Market, expressed pride in the recognition, attributing it to the skillful care provided by the surgeons and staff. The outpatient experience offered by Sansum Clinic is preferred by many patients over a hospital stay, making this recognition even more significant for the community.
The rankings were conducted by U.S. News & World Report in collaboration with CareJourney, evaluating nearly 5,000 ambulatory surgery centers based on outcomes achieved for patients. Only the highest-rated surgery centers earned the “Best” rating, showcasing their commitment to excellence in patient care.
