Sean “Diddy” Combs, a rapper and music mogul, is currently facing multiple civil lawsuits accusing him of sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and rape. The allegations against Combs have surfaced from various individuals, including his former partner, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, and producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones.
Combs, who has denied all the accusations against him, recently had his houses in Los Angeles and Miami raided by US Homeland Security agents. The lawsuits against him date back to the 1990s when he founded his record label, Bad Boy Records.
One of the most prominent cases against Combs is from Cassie Ventura, who alleged that she was trafficked, raped, and beaten by Combs over a span of 10 years. Surveillance footage from a hotel incident in 2016 seemed to corroborate parts of Ventura’s claims.
Another lawsuit from producer Rodney Jones accuses Combs of subjecting him to unwanted advances and forcing him to engage in relations with sex workers. The lawsuit also alleges that Combs hosted “sex-trafficking parties” with underage women and illegal drugs.
Despite the mounting allegations, Combs has vehemently denied all the claims and vowed to fight for his name and family. His attorneys have labeled the lawsuits as baseless and money grabs. The lawsuits against Combs have brought to light a dark side of the music industry, with survivors using the New York Adult Survivors Act to pursue civil litigation regardless of the statute of limitations.
