Ronda Rousey, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion, opened up about the profound impact of her devastating loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in 2015. In a recent Q&A session during her book tour, Rousey revealed that losing the title hurt her more than anyone could imagine.

“I cared about that title more than anybody ever has,” Rousey said. “It hurt me more than anybody that’s ever been hurt by losing it. That’s why I was able to defend it for so long.”

Rousey’s willingness to sacrifice everything for her dreams led her to become a dominant champion, but it also drove her into a deep depression after the loss. She admitted that caring more than anyone else can be both an advantage and a disadvantage.

Following the loss, Rousey essentially disappeared from the public eye, only to be pulled out of her pit of despair by her husband, UFC heavyweight Travis Browne. Despite the challenges she faced, Rousey credits her husband for helping her through the tough times.

Now, Rousey is able to talk about her loss and the difficult journey she went through to come out on the other side. Despite the reminders and challenges she faced, Rousey is grateful for the support she received and the lessons she learned along the way.
