Donald Trump Criticizes Political Opponents in Memorial Day Message

Reading Time: < 1 minute

On Memorial Day, while Americans across the country honored fallen soldiers, former President Donald Trump took to social media to launch a scathing attack on his political rivals, referring to them as “human scum.”

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump dismissed his adversaries who are involved in legal cases against him, including judges overseeing civil cases for sexual assault and business fraud, as well as the criminal trial related to hush money payments to a porn star before the 2016 election.

“Happy Memorial Day to All, including the Human Scum that is working so hard to destroy our Once Great Country,” Trump wrote, showcasing his combative and divisive rhetoric.

The former president also took aim at a judge, whom he called “wacko,” and E. Jean Carroll, a former magazine columnist whom he was found liable for sexually abusing in a civil case.

While Trump did share a photo of himself saluting at a grave covered with an American flag, with a caption honoring fallen soldiers, his derogatory comments overshadowed any semblance of respect for the holiday.

In contrast, President Joe Biden delivered a poignant speech at Arlington National Cemetery, paying tribute to the sacrifices made by soldiers throughout American history.

Trump’s inflammatory remarks on Memorial Day further highlight the deep political divisions in the country and the ongoing clash between his confrontational style and Biden’s more conciliatory approach.
