Gamefam, a metaverse media company catering to GenZ and Gen Alpha, has announced the creation of a $5 million fund to support user-generated content (UGC) creators on platforms like Roblox and Fortnite. With over 30 live-service games and billions of lifetime visits, Gamefam is a prominent player in the gaming industry.

A unique aspect of this fund is that one-quarter of it is reserved exclusively for creators from underrepresented backgrounds. Joe Ferencz, CEO of Gamefam, emphasized the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the gaming community.

The Gamefam Creator Fund aims to provide seed funding, expert advice, and proprietary resources to creators with innovative game ideas. Selected creators will receive funding ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, along with guidance on game design, monetization strategies, and access to Gamefam’s assets.

Ferencz expressed pride in launching the fund, stating that it aligns with Gamefam’s mission to amplify the voices of developers in the UGC gaming space. The fund will operate as an investment model, allowing creators to retain ownership of their content while Gamefam supports their projects.

Creators interested in applying for the fund must have a working prototype of their game or previous game launches. A panel of judges, including Gamefam employees and industry leaders, will review the entries on a rolling basis.

Gamefam’s growth in the gaming industry, partnerships with major brands, and success stories like War Tycoon and Infinite Zonewars highlight the company’s expertise in UGC gaming. The fund’s focus on creativity and supporting the next generation of game industry professionals underscores Gamefam’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in the gaming community.
