Reading Time: < 1 minute

Indore’s cricket sensation Rajat Patidar is all set to bring his experience from the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to the upcoming Madhya Pradesh League (MPL). Having played under the leadership of Virat Kohli at RCB, Rajat is eager to instill a positive and inclusive team culture within his squad, Malwa Panthers, in the MPL.

Rajat emphasized the importance of fostering an environment where players feel free to express themselves and deliver their best for the team’s success. As the icon player and skipper for Malwa Panthers, he will lead a team of young talent, many of whom he has played with in various domestic tournaments under the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA).

Reflecting on his own journey to international cricket, Rajat highlighted the significance of state leagues like MPL in providing a platform for young cricketers to showcase their skills on a national level. With matches being broadcast live across the country, these players have a golden opportunity to make their mark on the international stage early in their careers.

The MPL is set to commence on June 15 at the newly-constructed stadium in Gwalior, with Rajat and his team gearing up for practice sessions starting from June 8. With a competitive landscape and well-rounded squads across all five participating teams, the league promises intense competition and the chance for domestic stalwarts to shine.

Rajat’s journey from a delayed international debut to becoming a key player in the IPL serves as an inspiration for the young talent in the MPL, as they aim to make their mark in the upcoming season.
