A Cartier Program is Supporting Underrepresented Entrepreneurs

Cartier’s Women’s Initiative Program Recognizes Diverse Entrepreneurs

Since 2006, Cartier has been at the forefront of supporting female entrepreneurs who are making a positive impact on society and the environment. Through the Cartier Women’s Initiative, the luxury jewelry house provides grant money, networking opportunities, loans, and professional advice to women-owned or female-led businesses from all sectors, helping them overcome barriers such as underfunding and lack of access.

In a groundbreaking move last year, Cartier expanded its program to include a new diversity, equity, and inclusion (D.E.I.) category, welcoming entrepreneurs of all genders whose businesses foster opportunities for underrepresented groups. This shift towards inclusivity has seen an increase in male applicants, with 20 percent of this year’s D.E.I. award category being men.

“We feel that the D.E.I. category should be open to all, regardless of gender, social background, religion, origin, size, or sexual orientation because everyone can face challenges to access,” said Cyrille Vigneron, the president and chief executive of Cartier.

The Cartier Women’s Initiative has evolved under Vigneron’s leadership, awarding over $9.5 million in grants to 300 entrepreneurs from 60 countries. The program’s commitment to diversity and empowerment is evident in its recognition of businesses like CISE, Voibook Technology, and Serein Inc., which are making a difference in their communities.

As the D.E.I. finalists gear up for the upcoming award ceremony in Shenzhen, China, Cartier continues to champion a more inclusive world where all entrepreneurs, regardless of gender, can thrive and make a difference.
