The American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) has made a significant announcement, appointing Alex Machurov as the Head of Business Development. In this new role, Machurov will be responsible for leading A2IM’s strategic partnerships and overseeing sponsorship opportunities for the association’s key events, such as the annual Indie Week Conference and the Libera Awards.
With over twenty years of experience in music and live event partnerships, Machurov brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position. He previously spent more than a decade at Superfly, where he directed brand sponsorships and activations for renowned music festivals like the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival and the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco.
Expressing his excitement about the new role, Machurov stated, “My whole life, my favorite and most influential music has come from indie artists. That’s why I am so excited to join A2IM and play a role in supporting and advocating for the independent music community.”
Richard James Burgess, CEO of A2IM, praised Machurov’s appointment, highlighting his expertise and passion for the independent music community. Burgess believes that Machurov’s vast network of connections and knowledge will bring new opportunities to A2IM.
Prior to joining A2IM, Machurov served as the Chief Revenue Officer at Revolution Marketing, managing sponsorships for iconic venues like the Merriweather Post Pavilion Amphitheater and the Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville, AL. He also held the position of VP of National Events and Experiential Partnerships at iHeartMedia.
