Access Group Acquires SHR Group to Enhance Hospitality Software Solutions

The Access Group, a leading business management software provider, has made a strategic move by acquiring SHR Group, a global technology solution and services provider for hotels and casinos. This acquisition is part of Access’s vision to become a comprehensive solution for hospitality property management, operations, and front-of-house tools.

SHR Group, established in 2004, offers a range of tools and services to help hoteliers maximize revenue and optimize the booking and retention ecosystem. With over 2,000 global hotel clients, SHR has built a strong reputation in the industry.

The integration of SHR’s capabilities will complement those of Guestline, another property management software provider that Access acquired last year. This combined customer base of over 5,000 properties will benefit from enhanced efficiency and profitability, facilitated by a comprehensive digital guest journey.

SHR’s offerings include a central reservation system, internet booking engine, customer relationship manager, revenue management system, and digital marketing and loyalty program solutions. The company also has AI-powered tools that customize offers for guests to enhance conversion and upselling.

The acquisition of SHR will allow Access to further penetrate the US market and cater to larger hotel groups with complex distribution needs. With revenues exceeding £1bn and a global workforce of over 7,000 employees, The Access Group is well-positioned to expand its footprint in the hospitality industry.

By incorporating SHR’s capabilities into its AI-powered platform, Access aims to become the preferred provider for independent hotels and national and regional chains globally. This acquisition marks a key milestone in Access’s drive to grow its market share in North America and enhance guest experiences in the hospitality sector.
