Achieve Medallion Status with Delta by Staying and Renting Cars

Delta Air Lines is offering its SkyMiles members a new opportunity to earn Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) towards elite status through its Stays and Cars promotion. From May 13 to June 24, members can earn 1 MQD per base dollar spent on hotel bookings and car rental reservations made through the Travel Extras portal for travel completed by Sept. 8.

For hotel bookings, members will earn 1 MQD per dollar spent on the base cost of the room before taxes and fees. This promotion is in addition to the 2 redeemable SkyMiles typically earned for every dollar spent at most hotels. Similarly, for car rentals, members will earn 1 MQD per dollar spent on the base rental rate.

Elite members will earn additional miles based on their status level, with Diamond Medallion members earning 8 miles per dollar spent. It’s important to note that MQDs can only be earned if the name on the credit card matches the name on the SkyMiles account.

After completing travel, it may take up to eight weeks to receive the MQDs. Additionally, Delta cobranded cardholders can earn up to $100 or $250 in Delta Stays statement credits annually when using the card to purchase prepaid hotels or vacation rentals through Delta Stays.

This promotion offers SkyMiles members a unique opportunity to earn MQDs without flying, setting a new precedent for Medallion status. Delta is sending emails to members in batches with details of the promotion, and members are encouraged to take advantage of this limited-time offer to boost their elite status.
