Reading Time: < 1 minute

Actress Shwetha, known for her role in the iconic Kannada musical blockbuster film Chaitrada Premanjali, is making a comeback to the Kannada entertainment industry after a hiatus of 20 years. The actress, who was last seen in the Kannada film Kutumba in 2003, has worked in over 75 films in the Tamil film industry under the name Vinodhini.

Chaitrada Premanjali, released in 1982, is considered a milestone in the Kannada film industry for its melodious songs and marked the debut of director S Narayan. The film also launched the careers of lead actors Raghuveer and Shwetha. Now, after two decades, Shwetha is returning to Kannada entertainment with a television serial titled Lakshmi Nivasa.

Shwetha, who started her acting career as a child artist in the Tamil film Manal Kayiru, has made a mark in Kannada cinema with films like Gejje Naada, Lakshmi Mahalakhmi, Karpoorada Gombe, and Kotigobba. Her last appearance in a Kannada film was in Kutumba alongside director and actor Upendra.

Currently, Shwetha is balancing her time between Chennai and Bengaluru for her role in the Kannada television serial Lakshmi Nivasa. While she is enjoying her small screen comeback, the actress is also eager to return to the big screen with the right kind of roles. Television has evolved over the years, reaching a wider audience, and Shwetha is excited to be a part of this new era of entertainment.
