Adani Group To Invest Rs 2.3 Lakh Crore In Big Renewable Energy Expansion

In a groundbreaking move, the Adani Group has announced plans to invest a staggering Rs 2.3 lakh crore in India’s most ambitious renewable energy expansion and solar and wind manufacturing capacity addition ever. Despite facing a short-seller attack, the group is determined to pursue its rapid growth plans.

Adani Green Energy Ltd, the largest renewable energy company in India, will invest about Rs 1.5 lakh crore in expanding capacity to generate electricity from solar energy and wind power at Khavda in Gujarat’s Kutch. This expansion will increase the capacity to 30 gigawatts from the current 2 GW. Additionally, another Rs 50,000 crore will be invested in 6-7 GW of similar projects across the country.

Adani New Industries Ltd (ANIL), a unit of Adani Enterprises Ltd, will invest close to Rs 30,000 crore in expanding solar cell and wind turbine manufacturing capacity at Mundra in Gujarat.

AGEL aims to achieve 45 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, with 30 GW of this coming from the world’s largest renewable energy project at Khavda. The group plans to commission 4 GW in the current fiscal year and 5 GW every year thereafter.

The Adani Group’s ambitious renewable energy plans are part of a broader strategy to generate 500 GW of electricity from non-fossil sources by 2030, with a goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. This massive investment signals the group’s commitment to sustainable energy and environmental responsibility.

The renewable energy push comes as the conglomerate overcomes challenges from a short-seller report and reaffirms its position as a leader in the energy sector. With these bold investments, the Adani Group is set to revolutionize the renewable energy landscape in India and beyond.
