Addleshaw Goddard Appoints Robin Hickman as Head of Middle East, Targets 60% Revenue Growth

In a strategic move to further strengthen its presence in the Middle East, Addleshaw Goddard has appointed Robin Hickman as the new Head of Middle East. Robin, who has been with the firm for 16 years, has built a strong debt restructuring practice in the region and will now take on additional leadership responsibilities while continuing his role as a Finance partner specializing in complex debt restructuring mandates.

The appointment comes as the firm aims to achieve a revenue growth of 60% over the next five years, building on the success of being the fastest-growing region for Addleshaw Goddard in the most recent financial year, with a remarkable 43% income growth. The firm has also seen a doubling of headcount growth in the Middle East since 2019.

Robin’s extensive experience in the region includes working on some of the largest and most complex financings and high-profile debt restructurings. He has been leading the firm’s Middle East finance practice since 2022 and became a partner at the firm in 2017.

Andrew Johnston, the current Addleshaw Goddard Managing Partner, expressed his confidence in Robin’s ability to lead the Middle East business to new heights. He highlighted Robin’s strong client relationships and commitment to establishing Addleshaw Goddard as the leading firm in the region.

In response to his appointment, Robin Hickman stated, “Our target is to more than double in size and my commitment to continue investing in our teams, our clients, and the markets in which we operate will be unwavering. There is a lot of opportunity for both AG and our clients right across the Middle East, and our focus will be on delivering even more impact by attracting more of the best people and winning a greater share of premium work.”

Addleshaw Goddard, a global law firm with over 2,500 employees across 18 offices worldwide, has been making significant strides in expanding its presence in the Middle East. Earlier this year, the firm was granted a Foreign Law Firm License by the Saudi Ministry of Justice, paving the way for the launch of its fourth office in the region in Riyadh, alongside existing offices in Dubai, Qatar, and Oman.

With Robin Hickman at the helm of the Middle East business, Addleshaw Goddard is poised for continued growth and success in the region. His leadership, combined with the firm’s strong team and commitment to excellence, sets the stage for an exciting new chapter in the firm’s journey in the Middle East.
