Adobe Premiere Pro introduces new AI-powered video editing features | Technology News

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Adobe has revolutionized the video editing industry once again with the announcement of new tools powered by generative AI technology in Premiere Pro. The new features, set to be available for users starting May 2024, include the ability to remove or add objects to a video with just a simple text prompt, thanks to Firefly AI.

In addition to this groundbreaking update, Adobe has also partnered with OpenAI and Runway to bring more AI-backed video editing capabilities to Premiere Pro. This includes the ability to generate B-roll footage and extend the length of a video with the generative extend tool.

One of the most exciting features introduced is the object addition or removal tool, which allows editors to easily select and track objects in a video frame and remove them with a single input. This tool will streamline the editing process and enable editors to make quick and precise changes to their footage.

Furthermore, Adobe will soon introduce content credentials, a feature that helps identify if the content is original or generated by AI using a watermark. This will provide transparency and clarity in the editing process.

With the new generative extend feature, editors can now add additional frames to their videos, enhancing the overall quality and flow of the footage. This feature, powered by both in-house Firefly models and third-party models, will be a game-changer for editors looking to fine-tune their edits and create seamless transitions.

Adobe has also showcased new audio workflows, including interactive fade handles, essential sound badges, effect badges, and a redesigned waveform in the timeline. These updates will further enhance the editing experience for Premiere Pro users, making it easier and more efficient to create high-quality videos.
