Adriyan Rae Becomes a Permanent Member of Mara Brock Akil’s Netflix Series

American actor Adriyan Rae has joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming series “Forever,” created by Mara Brock Akil. The show is a reimagining of Judy Blume’s 1975 novel and follows the epic love story of two black youths navigating their identities in 2018 Los Angeles. The series will explore the concept of first love lasting forever, a theme that Brock Akil is known for in her previous work.

Rae will play the role of Brittany, one of Keisha’s older cousins, who is described as a social climber with a sarcastic sense of humor and a blunt attitude. She looks out for Keisha and her well-being like an older sister and brings a sense of fun wherever she goes. Lovie Simone will portray Keisha Clarke, while Michael Cooper Jr will depict Justin Edwards. The cast also includes Karen Pittman and Wood Harris.

Rae is currently starring in Paramount+’s “The Game” and has previously appeared in SYFY’s “Vagrant Queen,” NBC’s “Chicago Fire,” and Hulu’s “Light As A Feather.” She has also guest-starred on various shows and had roles in films like “Superfly” and “Burning Sands.”
